Our Story
“Ballerina Jewelers: A Diamond in the Sand and its own very 4 C’s— Commitment, Confidence, Communication and Care.”
For over a quarter of a century, Ballerina Jewelers and its sister stores have showcased the finest variety of watches and beautiful jewelry selected from all over the world for both quality and value.
Ballerina was founded in 1986/ 1987 in the islands of St. Thomas and St. Maarten by brothers Peter, James and Mike Mirpuri alongside their father Sam. Now their sons Nitin and Giresh have joined the business taking the opportunity to continue this family led business and become the 3rd generation to carry it forward for the next 20years.
“Buying jewelry is all about trust and word of mouth is the life blood of any business. When one has a good experience, one tells his/her friends too.”In almost 30 years of business the Mirpuri brothers have built one of the largest and most loyal customer base in the Caribbean.
Mike says: “we are humbled by being an important part of your family’s milestones - from engagement to weddings, anniversaries to special moments and beyond. We have grown together, and we couldn’t be more proud than to consider each and every one of our clients a true family friend.”
Experts in diamond grading, the Mirpuri brothers share their spin on what the 4C’s truly are:
1- Commitment: commitment to our customers and our employee satisfaction; this commitment remains the same since we opened our 1st store.
2- Confidence: Many tough decisions have come along the way but with the trait of confidence and support of each other the brothers were able to guarantee and pave the road toward 30 years of a successful business.
3- Communication: finding ways to communicate on all levels with customers and employees to safeguard the service and product sold on a daily basis.
4- Care: meticulous care to the quest for excellence.
Since its’ founding, Ballerina Jewelers has grown to include ten locations, two of which are exclusive boutiques for recently acquired brands, just doors away from each other. Ballerina Jewelers opened in the fall of 2014 a Longines Flagship Boutique, the first ever in the Caribbean. While each location has its own personality, the stores share a modern, yet classically elegant style, providing customers with a comfortable environment to shop. The flagship location, at 56 Front Street in Philipsburg, St. Maarten, features a streamlined, chic and modern interior juxtaposed with its traditional island exterior.
Ballerina Jewelers 30 year career has been built in collaboration with top watchmakers and jewelers including brands such as Roger Dubuis, Franck Muller, Longines, Mont Blanc, Bell & Ross, Frédérique Constant, Corum, Tacori, Simon G. Fope, Stefan Hafner, Leo Pizzo.
With its multiple stores, Ballerina is a powerful buying group which translates into excellent values for the clients.
“Each customer of Ballerina Jewelers is treated to a level of service that is second to none, which makes it highly likely that they will visit one of our stores during future trips to the Caribbean,” Mirpuri adds. “This is often the case, as world travelers are regularly heading to the Caribbean for beachside respites, and Ballerina Jewelers is their destination in the destination!”
